Sandals Barbados 2015

Our stay at Sandals Barbados Resort in May, 2015

As most of my close friends and family knows, April or May is our vacation time for us. This is our time to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday. We always try to go to a new destination just to try something new. This year we went to Barbados and stayed at Sandals Barbados. This was our first time on vacation at a Sandals Resort. For those of you who have already stayed at Sandals will completely understand my WOW expressions.

We were unsure of how busy the airport would be so we booked the Barbados Fast Track upon arrival. We were greeted by a Bajan who was holding a sign with our names on it. She was so sweet and spoke English very well. She guided us through customs and immigrations quickly and escorted us outside to our transfer area.

We were escorted by an outside company that Sandals resort works with and within 20 mins we arrived at Sandals Resort.

After everyone had gotten off the bus at the resort, we all were greeted by Bajan’s who welcomed us to their resort with a song. They all had beautiful smiles and were super kind.

We then were escorted to Club Lounge as we checked in there. It was so nice to be able to relax and enjoy a champagne while checking in. We were assigned a personal concierge who was always at the up most happiest when around us. She then gave us a tour of the resort and then escorted us to our room. She explained more details and answered any questions we had for her regarding the services and resort.

It wasn’t long after she left our room that we had opened a bottle of Appleton Rum for a cocktail. Our room was Room #4110 Swim out room in Bajan Building. Our room was far more than I expected. With our swim out room being so inviting to put on our swim suits, it didn’t take us long to do just that.

Chocolate on our bed for us on arrival for our Anniversary.

Dual sinks, walk in shower & enclosed toilet are.

Our Soaking tub & direct access to a romantic pool!

This resort was a perfect resort for us as it is a smaller resort. Everything is right there and with close approx of everything within walking distance.

With 11 restaurants to choose from, you will not go hungry. Sandals Discovery dining is so wonderful. There is no limited to how much you may want to order for dinner, lunch or breakfast. They cater to your dietary needs as well.

Dining options were fantastic and only 2 restaurants required reservations. Kimonos & Butch’s Chophouse are the only two that require reservations and I suggest making reservations once you arrive asap. We had our favorites, Schooner’s Seafood Grill, Butch’s Chophouse and The Merry Monkey were our top three dining options for us.

Bombay is the first Indian restaurant at Sandals. We did go and try this as I am open to new favors of food. I have some photos of this below for you. Note: Bombay was closed on Tuesday nights for dinner, however open for International breakfast.

Sandals Barbados resort does have a great beach with lots of loungers and shade, however the water is very rough with big waves. If you like to take the Hobie cat or boogie board out, then is the perfect beach for you. For those that love to relax in calm waters, sorry this isn’t your beach. However you can enjoy some of the other public beaches just north of this resort on the west side of the island. Note: All beaches in Barbados are public beaches.

Sandals Barbados pools are all so very different. With the main pool with swim up bar is located near the beach area. Btw, the ocean breeze is a constant cool breeze and it feels so good. There is a dry side to the backside of this bar as well. Great for the evening dining as well.

The European Pool area was a nice quiet section. With red & white canopies for great shade. They all had 2 loungers, 1 table and 1 sofa style lounge. They were located on one side of the pool and the other side offered loungers with umbrellas and tables. Their wasn’t much of a breeze at this pool as it is located on the backside of the ocean view building.

Then we come to the swim out pool that was in the back area of the resort with the swim out rooms. This pool was a very romantic pool for those that wanted more privacy. This pool was connected from Building #1 to Building #3. They were maintained with the grounds keepers keeping the flowers cut back and the pool people keeping the water clean. All pools had the large Sandals floating loungers in them. They were nice to use.

This resort offers butler suites, club level rooms as well as entry level rooms. The butler suites are only on the ends of every building. There are lots of club level rooms available and I highly suggest booking a club level room. The extra touches are the bonus part. From having liquor in your room, concierge service, 24 hour room service & turn down service its knowing that you are taken care of with your personal concierge. They will make all of your reservations for dining and excursions along with spa treatments. It doesn’t get any better that this.

Customer Service is like nothing I have ever experienced before. From the gardener to the management, they are all so helpful, kind and happy to be working for Sandals Resort. They are so friendly that getting to know them is a blessing to have as a friend. We shared so many laughs with the staff members. From the bar manager to our Club Concierge & the Aqua Center staff.
